They look cosy and are supposed to provide a little warmth. But they pose a serious <strong>fire hazard<\/strong>. Here you can read why this is so and how to protect yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why tealight ovens can be dangerous<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Several tealights often stand close together in the oven.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The clay pot or housing traps the heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The wax becomes very hot and can ignite on its own.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This causes a wax fire with a tall flame. Water makes it even more dangerous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heating effect is small. A tealight oven does not replace a heater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you should definitely pay attention to<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep the distances between the tealights specified by the manufacturer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only use as many tealights as the oven is designed for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the oven on a fireproof mat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep a distance from curtains, paper and furniture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never leave the oven burning unattended, not even briefly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never extinguish burning wax with water. Smother the flame with a lid or a fire blanket.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which mat is suitable?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tealight oven needs a mat underneath that does not burn and withstands a lot of heat. More tealights give hardly any more warmth, but considerably more risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I put the tealight oven on a wooden table?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only with a fireproof mat underneath.
