The microwave is not mentioned by name. Many companies still place it on a fireproof mat. That way, one simple rule applies to the whole kitchenette: every appliance that produces heat stands on a mat. Heat from below and condensation can discolour the surface or make it swell. The slight vibration during operation can also scratch the worktop over time. The FireMat is made of Panox and para-aramid, not silicone. It withstands up to 300 \u00b0C, does not melt and is self-extinguishing.
