It does work on induction, but the coating turns brown there and no longer looks nice. A small mat is enough for one cooking zone. For the whole hob, take a large mat, for example 60 x 70 cm. These points matter more than a seal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is the heat resistance clearly stated?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is there a tested certificate, for example according to DIN EN ISO 11925-2?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the mat thin enough for the hob to detect the pot?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can it be washed?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is there a size that fits your hob?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-frequently-asked-questions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-does-food-heat-up-more-slowly-with-a-mat\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Does food heat up more slowly with a mat?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hardly. The magnetic field still heats the pot base directly. The thin mat does not noticeably slow this down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-can-the-mat-burn\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can the mat burn?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FireMat is fireproof. Even at 300 \u00b0C it does not ignite, it only chars.
