Overview of Fire Classes
Fire classes describe how materials react to heat and flames. In Europe, the following classification applies:
- Class A – Non-combustible: Materials such as concrete, stone, or glass. They do not contribute to fire development and are considered absolutely safe.
- Class B – Flame-retardant: Materials do not ignite easily and contribute only minimally to the spread of fire. FireMat mats consist of high-quality plastics that are flame-retardant and therefore ideally suited for everyday use.
Class B materials are particularly practical for the household, kitchen, office, and workshop: they combine safety with flexibility and easy handling.
FireMat – Tested Fireproof Mats
All FireMat products meet the requirements of Fire Class B and have additionally been tested according to DIN EN ISO 11925-2, a recognized standard for ignitability and fire behavior.
The mats reliably protect your surfaces from:
- Heat generation from pots and pans
- Short-term exposure to flames
- Flying sparks during workshop or craft work
- Thanks to these properties, FireMat mats are the perfect solution for the kitchen, household, office, and hobby areas.
