Questions about the FireMat

Which FireMat is right for me?

For electrical appliances in the office, the Black Edition and the non-slip Silk Edition are suitable. If water often drips, choose the Silk-A Edition instead. For the fireplace, outdoors, camping and wet areas, the Gold Edition is ideal. In front of the fireplace it reliably catches embers and soot and can then be wiped with a damp cloth. What is the FireMat used for?

It is most often placed under coffee machines, kettles and microwaves, because rules such as the German DGUV Rule 115-401 recommend a non-combustible base there. It also protects the induction hob. You will find more ideas under Areas of application.

Has the FireMat been tested?

Yes. The material is certified by TÜV SÜD according to DIN EN ISO 11925-2. You can download the certificate under Certificates. FireMat is also made in Germany.

Can I cut the mat to size?

Yes, you can simply cut the Silk Edition and the Silk-A Edition to size with scissors. This way the mat fits your appliance exactly.

Is the FireMat washable?

Yes, you can wash the Black and Silk Editions in the machine at 60 °C. Use a liquid, non-highly-alkaline detergent. However, do not use fabric softener, bleach or optical brighteners. Dry cleaning is not possible. You will find everything else in the washing instructions.

The mat curls up at the edges. What helps?

Briefly roll the mat in the other direction. With the Silk Edition, the glossy side is the non-slip side. You can place it facing up or down. Facing up, the pot stays firmly in place. Facing down, the mat stays firmly on the hob and the pot is easier to slide. After washing, the mat usually lies flat again. The user manual explains more.

Questions about ordering and shipping

How long does delivery take?

Within Germany, you will usually receive your goods two to three working days after we receive your order. We mainly ship with DHL.

How much is shipping?

Within Germany, shipping costs 5.90 euros, and from an order value of 25 euros delivery is free. You will find all countries under Shipping costs.

Can I order on invoice?

Yes, for companies, public authorities and public institutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. To do so, select the payment method “Purchase on invoice” at checkout. You then transfer the amount within 14 days. You can read more under for companies, authorities and schools.

Can I place a written order on company letterhead?

Yes. Simply send your order as an e-mail attachment to info@firemat.de. Please include the items, quantities and billing and delivery address. You can also state your internal order number. You will find our company details in the legal notice.
