What a fireproof bag can do – and what it cannot

A fireproof bag protects its contents from flames, sparks and heat for a while. In a long, fully developed fire it can still get very hot inside. Paper starts to discolour at around 200 °C, and electronics are even more sensitive. Even the premium model buys you time, but it is not a safe.
