Panox / Para Aramid
Material and Properties

Para-Aramid (also known under the brand names Twaron, Kevlar, Nomex) is a synthetically produced high-modulus aramid fiber. It is a thermoplastic polyamide and is mainly used in applications such as protective clothing, tires, ropes and cables, as well as in the aerospace industry.

Properties of Para-Aramid are:

High strength: Para-Aramid has high tensile strength and can withstand loads up to three times higher than steel.
Heat and fire resistant: It has a high melting point and is flame retardant.
Chemical resistant: It is resistant to a variety of chemicals.
Impact resistant: It has a high damping capacity and can absorb energy acting on the fiber.
UV-stable: It has high resistance to UV radiation.

It can also be used in combination with other materials to achieve specific properties, such as Panox, which coats para-aramid with a layer of aluminum oxide to increase heat resistance and insulation.
