What is FireMat and what is its function?
Electricity always carries risks, and the law sees it the same way.
Although the use of electrical devices in companies is regulated by law, the number of electrical accidents has remained constant for years. For this reason, occupational safety requires a risk assessment to identify potential hazards in advance and prevent them through appropriate measures.
Recently, commercially used kitchen appliances have also been affected by this inspection. Even the beloved coffee machine in the office is closely examined as part of a risk assessment.
As soon as a hazard is identified, measures must be taken. If the coffee machine is not placed on a fireproof mat and thus does not comply with occupational safety regulations, suitable measures must be taken – immediately.
However, this does not mean that you have to place your kitchen appliances on the kitchen floor tiles or even do without freshly brewed coffee. There is a much simpler solution – using a fireproof mat called FireMat.
The FireMat mat is TÜV certified according to DIN EN ISO 11925-2 and thus ensures legally compliant handling of electronic devices. Not only the coffee machine, but also other electrical appliances such as microwaves or toasters are no longer classified as a source of danger when using the FireMat mat.
Danger identified – danger averted!
If the coffee machine is not on a fireproof mat and is therefore targeted by occupational safety inspectors, this always means that measures must be taken – and immediately!
This does not mean that you have to place your kitchen appliances on the kitchen floor tiles from now on, or even do without freshly brewed coffee entirely. There is a much simpler way.
A FireMat fireproof mat is probably the easiest way to comply with occupational safety orders and meet legal requirements.
